ORDER
Dr.N.Paul Sunder Singh, learned Standing Counsel accepts notice for the respondents and has requisite instructions to enable final disposal of this writ petition even at the stage of admission. Hence by consent expressed, and in fact at request of both learned counsel, this writ petition is disposed at this juncture. 2.
The prayer in the petition is for a mandamus simplicitor directing the second respondent / the Chief Accounts Officer of the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (Board / CMWSSB) to pass orders on representation dated 19.01.2023. 3.
The petitioner claims to be the owner of property at No.7, Mahalakshmi Nagar, 8th Cross Street, Adambakkam, Chennai - 600 088. She has filed representation before the second respondent seeking name transfer of the assessment of the 2/5
aforesaid property in her favour. According to her, while the officer is yet to dispose her representation, he has issued a notice for new assessment on 21.02.2018 for the second-half of 2017 - 2018 onwards.
4.
Since the prayer is only for a mandamus for disposing representation and since the representation itself involves appreciation of various factual particulars relating to quantification of the taxes and amounts, if any paid by the petitioner thus far in this regard, these matters are best left to the attention of the authorities concerned. Hence, and in view of there being no objection expressed by learned panel counsel in this regard, mandamus is issued to R2 to issue notice to the petitioner, hear her and pass orders on representation dated 19.01.2023 within six weeks from date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.
Writ petition is disposed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
