..Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 09.06.2017 and dispose of the said representation and correct the records in the 'A' Register maintained by the 2nd respondent insofar as the measurements shown for the land of 0 acres 32 cents in Survey No.17/9 and issue Patta in favour of the petitioner in respect of the said land of 0 acre 32 cents in S.No.17/9 (Old S.No.17/3) in No.10 Puthur Village, Chengalpattu Taluk, Kancheepuram District within a time frame.

Mr.E.Balamurugan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent of both parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 09.06.2017, wherein and whereby, he sought for rectification in the 'A' Register maintained by the 2nd respondent insofar as the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

measurements shown for the land of 0 acres 32 cents in Survey No.17/9 (Old S.No.17/3) situated at No.10 Puthur Village, Chengalpattu Taluk, Kancheepuram District and issuance Patta in favour of the petitioner.

3. It is stated that the petitioner is in possession and enjoyment of the above said land ever since the date of purchase. It is further stated that there was a mistake crept in the Revenue records in respect of the measurement of the above said land. Hence, the petitioner made a representation on 09.06.2017, seeking rectification of the said mistake crept in the Revenue records and issuance of patta in his favour. The grievance of the petitioner before this Court is that even though he made the representation on 09.06.2017, the respondents has not considered the same so far.

4. Heard both sides.

This Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, as it is for the second respondent to consider and decide the same on merits and in accordance with law. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of only with a direction to the second respondent to consider the representation dated 09.06.2017 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the petitioner and other interested parties, if any. Such exercise shall be done by the second respondent within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
