Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to disburse the retirement benefits of Commutation, SPF, Gratuity, IRTT Contribution and Earned Leave Arrears totalling in all to the tune of Rs.7,77,861/-.

O R D E R

The petitioner worked as Driver in Tamilnadu State Transport Corporation (Salem) Limited. On attaining the age of superannuation, he retired from service on 31.05.2014. It is the grievance of the petitioner that not withstanding his retirement on 31.05.2014, he has not been given the retirement benefits. The petitioner is therefore before this Court.

2. The learned Standing Counsel for the Corporation on instructions submitted that the petitioner is eligible to get the retirement benefits. According to the learned Standing Counsel, financial difficulty of the Corporation alone contributed for the delay in question.

3. The second respondent is directed to disburse the retirement benefits due to the petitioner as expeditiously as possible and in any case within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
