of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to settle the interest for the belated payment of retirement benefits such as gratuity, commutation of pension, provident fund and other retirement benefits payable to the petitioners with 12% rate of interest within the time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

In all Writ Petitions:

For Petitioners : Mr.L.Poovendra Perumal For Respondents : Mr.R.Balaji Standing Counsel - MTC COMMON ORDER The Writ Petitions have been filed in the nature of a Mandamus seeking a direction against the respondents for payment of interest for the delayed payment of gratuity, commutation of pension, provident fund and other retirement benefits.

2.It is contended that the petitioners have been paid the gratuity, commutation of pension, provident fund and other retirement benefits with delay.

3.Heard the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents.

4.The respondents may examine the service register of each one of the petitioners and examine whether the amount has been paid with delay. If they had been paid with delay, pay interest at 6% per annum from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursement. This exercise should be completed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
