ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed to forbear the respondents from using the land morefully disclosed in the prayer to this writ petition, which according to the petitioners is classified as "Kalam Poromboke" for any other purpose apart from agricultural purposes, based on the petitioners' representation, dated 19.02.2026.
2. Ms.C.Meera Arumugam, learned Additional Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 and 2 and Mr.A.M.Ayyadurai, learned Government Advocate, accepts notice on behalf of the 3rd respondent.
3. The petitioners claim that the respondents are now attempting to use the land morefully disclosed in the prayer to this writ petition for the purpose of constructing a sewage treatment plant, which according to the petitioners is in violation of the classification. The petitioners had Page No.2 of 7
given a representation on 19.02.2026 to the respondents to forebear them from using the land for a different purpose. Since the said representation was not considered, the petitioners have filed this writ petition.
4. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents, if the petitioners' representation as stated supra is considered on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, after giving due consideration to the supporting documents produced by the petitioners.
5. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioners' representation.
6. For the foregoing reasons, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the 3rd respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioners' representation dated 19.02.2026 seeking to forbear the respondents from using the land morefully disclosed in the prayer to this writ petition for a different purpose than as per the classification, namely "Kalam Poromboke" i.e., the usage for agricultural purpose only, after giving due consideration to the supporting Page No.3 of 7
documents produced by the petitioners, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
