The prayer in the writ petition is to direct the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 06.05.2024 and to issue a "No Objection Certificate" to the petitioner for obtaining an electricity connection for agricultural work in Survey No. 256/1, located at Kuchipalayam Village, Manikkamangalam, Needamangalam Taluk, Tiruvarur District.

Upon hearing the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the respondent and perusing the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, it is clear that the petitioner is a cultivating tenant, cultivating temple lands. While so, the petitioner now wants to apply for an electricity connection. When he applied, the authorities insisted on a "No Objection Certificate" from the temple.

3. When the matter came up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent temple submitted that the temple will grant a No Objection Certificate if the connection is taken in the name of the temple.

4. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner has no objection to this course of action. It is also represented by the learned counsel 2/4

for the petitioner that there are no arrears of rent as of now.

5. In view thereof, this writ petition is disposed of on the following terms:- (i) The respondent shall issue a No Objection Certificate with the condition that the connection shall be in the name of the temple.

(ii) With the said No Objection Certificate, the petitioner shall apply for the connection in the name of the temple.

(iii) Upon production of the No Objection Certificate, the TANGEDCO authority shall consider the application in accordance with the law and effect the connection. (iv) The No Objection Certificate shall be granted within two weeks from the date of receipt of the web copy of this order without waiting for the certified copy of the order. (v) No costs.
