O R D E R
Mr.R.Govindasamy, Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents and by consent of the parties, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
2. The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the 3rd respondent to register the Deed of Rectification submitted by the petitioner in respect of his landed property as mentioned in his principal sale deed in Document No.2461/1979 on the file of Sub-Registrar No.II, Saidapet, (Now Joint Sub-Registrar Office, Neelangarai) and in Power of Attorney vide in Document No.54/2013 on the file of Joint Sub-Registrar, Central Chennai Triplicane (Now Joint Sub Registrar Ofice, Neelangarai) which was executed to and in favour of the petitioner as Survey No.116 instead of Survey No.73/9 in respect of property situated at No.156, Semmencherry Village, Kanchipuram District to an extent of 16 acres 14 cents of land.
3. The grievance of the petitioner before this Court is that though the said document was presented before the third respondent on 27.11.2017, he has neither registered it nor returned the same to the petitioner so far. On the other hand, it is stated that the third respondent is keeping the document pending without any reason.
4. Needless to say that once the document is presented before the third respondent, he cannot keep it pending for a long time without passing any order either registering the same or returning the same to the petitioner. Therefore, this Writ petition is disposed of only by directing the third respondent to look into document filed by the petitioner on 27.11.2017 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
