This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 16.02.2025, seeking bail in Crime No.88 of 2025 registered for the offence under Sections 336(2), 336(3), 336(4) of BNS Act 2023 [ under Sections 465, 468 & 469 of IPC]. 1/4

2. The case of the prosecution as per the defacto complainant is that, petitioner falsely represented himself as a lawyer, forged an ID card of the Law College, cheated the general public and was doing kattapanchayat. Hence, the case.

3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the allegations against the petitioner are false and in any case, the petitioner is in custody from 16.02.2025; and that further custody is not required for the purpose of investigation. Hence, he prayed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

4. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the investigation is pending. He also produced a copy of the communication sent to the respondent by the College, in which petitioner is claimed to have studied Law, which confirms the act of forgery.

5. From the perusal of the Communication, it is seen that the petitioner did not study any Law Course in the College and he had produced a fake ID card. 2/4

6. Considering the conduct of the petitioner and the gravity of the offence, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

7. Accordingly, this Criminal Original petition is dismissed. 11.03.2025 Sma 3/4
