Respondents Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of habeas corpus calling for the records of the detention made in Memo No.1740/BCDFGISSSV-2014 dated 08.11.2014 passed by the Commissioner of Police, Chennai Police, Chennai, the second respondent herein and set aside the same and direct the respondent to produce the detenu before this Court and set the detenu Lingesh, Son of Mr.S.Arul, Hindu, aged about 24 years now confined at Central prison, Puzhal, Chennai, at liberty. ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by S.TAMILVANAN, J.) The petitioner, who is father of the detenu herein, viz., Lingesh, son of Mr.S.Arul, aged about 24 years, has come forward with this petition challenging the detention order passed by the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
second respondent dated 08.11.2014 against his son branding him as a "Goonda" under the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders, Forest Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders, Sand Offenders, Slum Grabbers and Video Piracy Act 1982 [Act 14 of 1982]. 2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the order of detention passed by the second respondent as against the son of the petitioner herein dated 08.11.2014 has been revoked by the Government in G.O. [Rt] No.7700, Home, Prohibition & Excise [XIII] Department dated 26.12.2014 and he has also produced a copy of the said order.
3. Recording the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this petition is closed as the same has become infructuous.
