Prayer in W.P.No.9885 of 2023 :

Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of certiorarified mandamus calling for the records of the property tax assessment pertaining to No.32, Wallers Road, Chindatripet, Chennai - 600 002 on the file of the 3rd respondent and quash the demand notice dated 09.03.2023 issued by the 4th respondent to the petitioner as unlawful, arbitrary and not binding on the writ petitioner and consequently grant injunction restraining the respondents 1 to 4 from taking any coercive action over the said property. For Petitioner :

Mr.Bharath Gowtham in all Petitions for Ms.K.Aswini Devi Standing Counsel COMMON ORDER Identical issue pertaining to the demand of property tax in respect of No.32, Wallers Road, Chindatripet, Chennai - 600 002 are stated to arise in W.P.Nos.8796, 8819 & 8818 of 2023 as well. Hence, these writ petitions are listed under a special list today and all matters are taken up together.

Heard Mr.Anish Gopi, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Bharath Gowtham, learned counsel appearing for the Chennai Corporation.

A letter is filed enclosing a memo dated 31.03.2023 by 2/4

the learned Standing Counsel for the Corporation to the effect that the entirety of the property tax has been paid by the land owner, as R5 in these writ petitions. They state that with the closure of the arrears nothing would survive in these matters as these impugned orders will be withdrawn with immediate effect. This is recorded.

These writ petitions and connected miscellaneous petitions are thus closed. No costs.
