THE HON'BLE MR.JUSTICE S.M.SUBRAMANIAM W.P.No.19911 of 2011 L.Mohana Sundari ..Petitioner vs The Member Secretary, Teachers Recruitment Board, E.V.K.Sampath Building, College Road, Chennai - 600 006.

.. Respondent Prayer:

Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider and pass order on the representation of the petitioner dated 19.07.2011. For Petitioner:

Mr.P.Nagaraju For Respondent:

Mrs.K.Bhuvaneswari Government Advocate

O R D E R

The relief sought for in this writ petition is for a direction to the respondent to consider and pass order on the representation submitted by the writ petitioner on 19.07.2011. 2.The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the writ petitioner states that the writ petitioner has completed the Master Degree in M.Sc., M.Phil. in Zoology and thereafter, passed the State Level Educational Testing Eligibility Test for Lecturership(SLET). Accordingly, the writ petitioner is fully qualified for appointment to the post of Assistant Professor. 3.The grievance of the writ petitioner is that she was called for interview and for certificate verification. In spite of that, the writ petitioner has not been selected. A mere selection or participation in the interview will not confer any https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

legal right on the candidate to claim appointment. The process of selection or appointment can be challenged, if there is a malpractice, irregularity or illegality or corrupt practices by the competent authorities, while conducting the process of selection. In the absence of any one of these grounds, the writ petitioner cannot claim appointment merely on the ground that she had participated in the interview and the certificate verification.

4.Under these circumstances, this Court is of the opinion that the writ petitioner has not established even a semblance of right so as to consider her right for granting the relief as such sought for in this writ petition.

5.Accordingly, the writ petition stands dismissed. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
