The petitioner has filed this petition to call for the records of the first respondent made in G.O.Ms.No.33, Home (Transport-I) Department dated Page No.3 of 8

2. The petitioner, Tamil Nadu State Transport Employee's Federation, is a Trade Union registered under the Trade Unions Act, 1926 with Registration No.2468/MDS. Between 01.04.2019 and 30.04.2020, a total of 6,221 employees of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporations retired, opted for voluntary retirement, died, or were medically discharged. Despite being legally entitled to terminal benefits such as Provident Fund, Gratuity, Earned Leave Salary, and Commuted Pension, amounting to Rs. 1,624.78 crores, these employees have not been settled with their dues even after prolonged delays. Though individual and union representations were made, no action was taken, prompting the Petitioner Union to file a writ petition.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing, learned Advocate General appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 submitted that the earlier Government Order vide G.O.Ms.No.33, Home (Transport-I) Department Page No.4 of 8

dated 23.01.2025, which is the subject matter of this writ petition has been withdrawn by the Government. To substantiate his claim, learned Advocate General has submitted a copy of the Government Order vide G.O.Ms.No.198, Home (Transport-I) Department, dated 28.04.2025.

4. In view of the submission made by the learned Advocate General appearing for the respondents 1 to 3, nothing survives in this writ petition for further adjudication.
