ORDER
The petitioner seeks the disposal of the petitioner's representation dated 27.12.2024.
2. Upon hearing the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and perusing the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition as well as the said representation, the petitioner is seeking permission to conduct a bull race in Govinda Reddy Palayam village.

When the matter came up for admission, Dr.S.Suriya, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3, upon written instructions submitted that earlier, when there was a loss of life, the first respondent had banned the bull race in the subject village for three years, i.e., 2024, 2025, and 2026. It is at this juncture that the present representation is made. The local revenue authorities have inspected the site and they do not have any objection.
4. Mr.S.Senthil Murugan, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the fourth respondent submitted that the date on which 2/5
the race was originally proposed to be conducted was immediately after Pongal and the same has already expired.
5. Be that as it may, since the first respondent has banned the race for three years and if the villagers want to conduct it again, their representation, along with the report from the local revenue authorities, including the Tahsildar, should be forwarded to the first respondent.
6. It is for the first respondent, the District Collector, to consider whether any circumstances exist to revisit the ban and give permission for this year or for the next year or whether the ban should remain in effect for the entire three years. Therefore, the petitioner's representation along with the report from the third respondent, shall be forwarded to the first respondent, who shall consider the matter and pass orders in accordance with the law. The said exercise shall be completed within eight weeks from the date of receipt of the web copy of the order without waiting for the certified copy of the order.
7. In view thereof, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. 21.03.2025 nsl 3/5
