Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to dispose the petitioner's representation dated 29.01.2024 and subsequently to remove the flag pole, banners and prevent the political party to conducting meeting at Chowdry Nagar Main Road, Valasaravakkam, Chennai.

ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Ms.K.Varsha, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.A.Arun Babu, learned Standing Counsel for respondents 1 and 2 and Mr.R.Muniyapparaj, learned Additional Public Prosecutor assisted by Mr.Sylvester John, learned counsel for respondent 3.

2. On merits, without any authentic documents, it will not be possible for us to issue any directions. If the law enforcement machinery has given permission, then the petitioner has to challenge the permission granted by the law enforcement machinery.

3. Representation has been given by the petitioner to respondents 1 and 3. The respondents 1 and 3 may consider the said representation on its own merits and take a decision in accordance with the policy expeditiously. If at public places the meetings are held without any permission, then it is open for respondent 3 to take necessary action against the same.

4. The writ petition, accordingly, stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
