This petition has been filed seeking to extend the time for depositing a sum of Rs.5 lakhs to the credit of the Kancheepuram Central Co-operative Bank, Pallavaram, Chennai as per the order passed by this Court in Crl.O.P.No.6463 of 2023 dated 12.04.2023.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 08.06.2021 and he is still confined in Central Prison, Puzhal - II. He further submitted that the petitioner was granted bail by this Court in Crl.O.P.No.6463 of 2023 on 12.04.2023 with a condition to deposit a sum of Rs.5 lakhs to the Kancheepuram Central Co-operative Society Bank, Pallavaram Branch, Chennai, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of that order, however, since the petitioner was unable to mobilise the fund, he is unable to comply with the condition and execute the sureties within the specified time.

3. He further submitted that now the petitioner with the help of his friends and relatives has arranged the funds and ready to deposit the same. He also submitted that despite the order being granted on 20.10.2022, the petitioner is unable to come out on bail and is suffering incarceration and if the time already granted by this Court is not extended, the petitioner will be put to a grave hardship. Hence, he prayed for extension of time.

4. The reasons adduced in the affidavit filed in support of this petition being satisfactory, this Criminal Miscelleneous Petition stands ordered and thereby, the time already granted by this Court in Crl.O.P.No.6463 of 2023 dated 12.04.2023 is extended by further period of two weeks from today.
