Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.05.2017 and to pass such further or orders as this Court may deem fit.

O R D E R

Mr.A.N.Thambidurai, learned Special Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner was appointed as Secondary Grade Teacher on 12.04.1986. He is now working as Head Master at Jalliyur Middle School. He is senior to one Mr.S.Devaraj, who was appointed as Secondary Grade Teacher on 30.04.1986. There was a pay anamoly and the said junior S.Devaraj started drawing higher pay scale than the petitioner herein. Aggrieved over the same, the petitioner has made a representation dated 02.05.2017 to the respondents to step up his pay on par with his junior, who is drawing higher pay scale.

The petitioner has made the said representation citing the order of this Court dated 18.06.2012 passed in W.P.Nos.3698 to 3700 of 2007, wherein, in a similar circumstances, this Court has ordered step up of pay by quashing the rejection order. However, in the present case on hand, the petitioner has made only a representation and restricts his prayer by seeking a direction to dispose of the same in the light of the order dated 18.06.2012 passed by this Court in W.P.Nos.3698 to 3700 of 2007 and 4352 of 2007.

4. In these circumstances, the respondents are directed to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 02.05.2017, on merits and in accordance with law as well as in the light of the order dated 18.06.2012 passed by this Court in W.P.Nos.3698 to 3700 of 2007 and 4352 of 2007 within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the result to the petitioner.

5. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
