Respondents Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of mandamus to direct the second respondent to release the WILL registered on 16.11.2016, vide pending No.P201600461, SRO Pallavaram by giving regular number based on the representation given by the petitioner on 01.11.2017 within a time frame fixed by this court.

O R D E R

The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the second respondent to register and release the WILL dated 16.11.2016, presented before the second respondent.

2.The petitioner is aged about 77 years and executed a Will on 16.11.2016. When she wanted to register the said document before the second respondent, the same is kept pending by assigning Pending No.P201600461 without any reason. Therefore, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the petitioner approached this Court and filed the present writ petition.

3.After notice, the learned Special Government Pleader based on instruction submitted that though there was doubt in the mind of the Registering Authority viz., the second respondent with regard to the nature of the documents sought to be registered, now, the second respondent has come to the conclusion that it is only a Will and therefore, he will take appropriate steps to register the said document and release the same to the petitioner without any further delay. The said statement made by the learned Government Pleader is recorded and the writ petition is disposed of by directing the second respondent to register the said document and release the same to the petitioner, if the petitioner has complied with other requirements of payment of fees, etc., in accordance with law. Such exercise shall be done by the second respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
