educational qualification as illegal, arbitrary and discriminatory and consequently direct the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioner for promotion to the post of Assistant Registrar Law. (Order of the court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.K.M.Ramesh, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.K.Karthick Jeganath, learned Government Advocate for the first respondent and Mrs.Mythili Srinivas, learned counsel for the second respondent.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner have retired two years back and the petition is rendered academic. As such, the petitioner does not wish to proceed further with the writ petition.
