Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents herein to pass appropriate order to allot the uncultivated land and residential plot in favour of the petitioner, with reference to the provisions of the proceedings of Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Letter No.W.V.T./82/ADM-II (SEL)PP dated 30.06.1983, by disposing the writ petitioner's representation dated 11.07.2018, within the stipulated period.

Mr.S.N.Parthasarathy, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the
respondents herein to pass appropriate orders to allot the uncultivated land and residential plot in favour of the petitioner, with reference to the provisions of the proceedings of Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Letter No.W.V.T./82/ADM-II (SEL)PP dated 30.06.1983, by disposing his representation dated 11.07.2018.
3. The petitioner claims to be a Para Military Force Personnel, is seeking for allotment of land under the scheme of Central Government prepared for Para Military Force Personnel Welfare. It is seen that the Commandant, S.D.G, CRPF, New Delhi, through proceedings dated 12.08.2013, informed the District Collector, Nagapattinam that the petitioner is working in their group for VVIP security duty and had submitted an application for allotment of land under the scheme of Central Government for Para Military Force Personnel Welfare. By stating so, the said official has forwarded the said application to the first respondent-District Collector for taking necessary action.
It is seen that the first respondent-District Collector, in turn through the proceedings dated 23.12.2013, forwarded the application to the third respondent-Tahsildar for taking appropriate action.
4. The grievance of the petitioner is that till this date, the third respondent has not taken any action, which necessitated the petitioner to make a representation on 11.07.2018 to the first and third respondents.
5. Under the above stated circumstances, this Court is of the view that the respondents cannot keep the application of the petitioner pending for long time without passing any orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law. Thus, this writ petition is disposed of, without expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, only with a direction to the respondents to consider the grievance of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
