ORDER

The petitioner apprehends arrest for the alleged offence under Sections 4(1)(A) and 4(1)(C) of Tamil Prohibition (Amendment) Act, 2024, in Crime No.83 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that on 29.05.2025, when the respondent police were on patrol, the petitioner was found in possession of IFML 180 ml Old Chief Rum Bottles - 5 Nos., Top Star Brandy - 1 No., and 650 ml King Fisher Beer - 1 No., totalling 7 bottles, for the purpose of sale. Hence, the case.

3. The fair submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner itself is sufficient to dispose of the present petition. It is an admitted fact that there are five previous cases against this petitioner. However, according to the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent, there are about eight previous cases against the petitioner. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on anticipatory bail, as the petitioner evidently appears to have misused the liberty granted by this Court.

4. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 05-03-2026 cda
