Respondents Prayer: This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to assign the patta in the petitioner name in respect of the property under their occupation/ enjoyment of lands No.139 in Survey No.534 Perumbakkam Village, Sholinganallur, Saidapet Taluk, Kancheepuram District and directing the respondents not to disturb their possession and enjoyment of the property.

O R D E R

The petitioners have come forward with this writ petition seeking for the issuance of patta based upon the possession and proceedings of the Sub-Collector dated 20.06.1984 given in favour of persons, who are said to be similarly placed like the petitioners.

2. The entitlement of the petitioners for issuance of patta cannot be decided by this Court as it is a matter for adjudication by appropriate authority. However, it is suffice to take into consideration the pendency of the representations said to have been given in September 2012.

3. Hence, the above said representations are directed to be disposed of by respondent No.4 within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order by taking into consideration of the relevant materials including the proceedings of Sub-Collector dated 20.06.1984. The petitioners are also directed to give one more representation within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, enclosing the copy of the order passed in this writ petition.
