..... Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of The Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records relating to the impugned order of the 2nd respondent in MemoNo.Nir.1(2)/16829/2009 dated 01.10.2015 and to quash the same and direct the respondents to appoint the petitioner on compassionate ground in any suitable job. For Petitioner : Mr.P.Rajendraj For Respondents : Mr.U.M.Ravichandran, Spl. Government Pleader
ORDER
The petitioner claims to be an adopted son of the deceased government servant - Bakkiam, who passed away on 12.06.2001. An application seeking appointment on compassionate ground was filed on 30.03.1984. That application was no doubt made in time. However, the petitioner was not able to substantiate before the authorities that he is the adopted son of the deceased government servant as his claim was not supported by any valid and acceptable documentary evidence. Appointment on compassionate ground is not a matter of right, but, it is a matter of concession. As the petitioner's name was not even entered in the service record of the deceased government servant, the application of the petitioner was rightly rejected by the authorities holding that he is not entitled for appointment on compassionate ground. I find no reason to interfere with the same. The writ petition is devoid of merits and the same is liable only to be dismissed.
In the result, the writ petition is dismissed. No costs. 27..06..2023 Index : yes / no : yes / no Speaking / Non Speaking Order kmk
