The relief sought by the petitioner in this writ petition is to settle one time payments of the entire retirement benefits of the petitioner enahnced dearness allowances with arrears, the terminal benefits due to me as on the date such as Gratuity + Provident Fund Rs.5,18,026 + May month deduction amount sum of Rs.3017/- Totally Rs.5,21,043/- College Fund Rs.4,600/- + SSS Fund + Commutation and other attendant benefits and enhanced dearness allowances along with 18% interest on delayed payment from 31.05.2018 to till date of disbursement of the terminal benefits to the petitioner.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner joined Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation in the year 04.05.2000 and worked as a Driver. Subsequently, he got superannuated after completing 18 years of service on 31.05.2018. However, after his retirement, the respondent Page No.2 of 6
has not disbursed the terminal benefits and other benefits to him. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation dated 24.11.2019, before the respondent, however, since the representation being made, no action was taken by the respondent. Aggrieved over the same, the petitioner has come forward with the present writ petition.
3. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the Transport Corporation is ready to settle the terminal benefits, which the petitioner is entitled for and request eight weeks to comply the same.
4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.
5. In view of the above submission made by the learned standing counsel appearing for the respondent, this Court directs the respondent/Transport Corporation to settle all the terminal benefits payable to the petitioner along with 7% interest for the belated payment from the date of retirement to till the date of payment, within a period of eight weeks from the Page No.3 of 6
date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. This writ petition is disposed of with the aforesaid direction. No costs.
