ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the learned II Additional Sessions Judge, Chennai, to expedite the trial in S.C.No.176 of 2013 as expeditiously as possible on day to day basis. 1/4

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that petitioner's husband was murdered and in this regard, a case in S.C.No.176 of 2013 is pending on the file of the learned II Additional Sessions Judge, Chennai. Out of 29 witnesses cited, so far 22 witnesses had been examined in full. The examination of P.W.23 is pending for one year without any progress. Therefore, this petition is filed for early disposal of case. 3.In response, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) submitted that efforts would be taken to produce P.W.23 and other witnesses for the early disposal of the case.

4.Considered the rival submissions and perused the records. 5.This Court does not understand the reason for keeping the case pending for examination of P.W.23 for one year. The sessions case is pending from 2013. Therefore, the learned II Additional Sessions Judge, Chennai, is directed to examine P.W.23 and remaining witnesses by posting the case in S.C.No.176 of 2013 on day to day basis and dispose the case as expeditiously 2/4

as possible, preferably, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

6.With the above direction and observation, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
