Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent Commission not to follow the reservation for SC (A) in the 2 2 backlog vacancies and consequently direct the second respondent Commission to follow the reservation with regard to women in a horizontal manner by interlocking them with communal reservations as explained by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in Rajesh Kumar Daria's case 2007 8 SCC 785 and further direct the respondent commission to fill up the backlog vacancies in the SC category first on the basis of merit and consequently direct the second respondent commission to include name of the petitioner in the selection list and select and appoint the petitioner to one of the vacancies in the Group-I Services examination notified vide Advertisement No.257, dated 29.12.2010. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Learned counsel for the petitioner fairly submits that in the absence of interim order, the writ petition has become infructuous, and otherwise also, a period of ten years has already passed after the selection.

In view of the aforesaid, the writ petition is dismissed as rendered infructuous. No costs. Consequently, M.P.No.1 of 2013 is also dismissed.
