PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records in proceedings No.1692/E10/PaTuBi-2/TNSTC(Coimbatore)/2014, dated 25.07.2014 and 1/L2/Law-1/W.P.27937/2014/TMSTC/14, dated 30.01.2015 and quash the same as illegal, incompetent and unconstitutional Page No.1 of 4

and further direct the 2nd respondent to sanction the petitioner's voluntary retirement .

ORDER

It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the relief sought in this writ petition in connection with voluntary retirement has become infructuous, in view of the fact that the petitioner has already attained the age of superannuation and retired from service in the month of May 2024.

2. In view of the same, adjudication of the writ petition on merits is not required. However, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that because of the pendency of the writ petition, the respondents have not settled the terminal benefits of the petitioner on his retirement.

3. In view of the same, the respondents are directed to settle all the terminal benefits that are due and payable to the petitioner as expeditiously as Page No.2 of 4

possible at any rate within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order .

4. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions, if any shall stand closed. No costs. 27.09.2024 Index :
