Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to fix the market value of petitioner's house site in Grama Natham S.No.835/1B/1/1 (New S.No.1718/2), having an extent of 1260 Sq.Ft., in Sriperumbudur "B" Revenue Village, Sriperumbudur Town and Taluk, Kancheepuram District and thereby fix appropriate compensation for the said house site as per law and direct them to pay the same.

ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the first respondent to fix the market value for the petitioner's Grama Natham house site more fully disclosed in the prayer to the writ petition and thereafter, pay compensation to the petitioner based on the petitioner's representation dated 07.01.2026 within the time frame to be fixed by this Court. 2/6
2. The petitioner claims that he is in possession of the grama natham house site more fully disclosed in the prayer to this writ petition. The petitioner claims that there is a proposal to acquire the petitioner's lands. Since the petitioner's property is a grama natham house site, the petitioner apprehends that without payment of compensation, he will be thrown out of the property. In such circumstances, the petitioner had given a representation to the respondents on 07.01.2026. Since the same was not considered, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.
3. Mr.Stalin Abhimanyu, learned Additional Government Pleader, accepts notice for respondents 1 and 2 and Mr.D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice for respondents 3 to 5.
4. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents if a direction is issued to the first respondent/competent authority to consider the petitioner's representation as stated supra on merits and in accordance with law after giving due consideration to the supporting documents produced by the petitioner within the time frame fixed by this Court. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's representation. 3/6
5. For the foregoing reasons, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the first respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner's representation dated 07.01.2026 seeking fixation of market value for the petitioner's grama natham house site more fully disclosed in the prayer to this writ petition and thereafter, fix appropriate compensation amount after giving due consideration to the supporting documents produced by the petitioner and if found eligible, pay the same to the petitioner, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
