Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Section 226 of the Constitution of India for issue of Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to grant Domestic Residential electricity connection to the petitioner's house situated at No, 11 B, Sivasakthi Nagar 2, Anthiyur, Erode. For petitioner :

O R D E R

This writ petition is filed for the following relief: "To direct the 2nd respondent to grant Domestic Residential electricity connection to the petitioner's house situated at No, 11 B, Sivasakthi Nagar 2, Anthiyur, Erode"

2. The petitioner would submit that she is residing in the subject property for nearly 45 years along with her husband and her two children. The land in which they are residing is a poromboke land. The petitioner's husband died on 09.01.2017. The petitioner would further submit that she made a request for issuance for patta on 2/6

26.11.2018, which has not been considered.

3. The case of the petitioner is that for the purpose of obtaining electricity connection, she had obtained 'no objection certificate' from the Village Administrative Officer, Anthiyur, Erode on 19.06.2020. The petitioner made an application dated 21.06.2020 before the 1st respondent seeking electricity connection for the said property.

4. On 22.06.2020, the 3rd respondent issued a notice stating that required documents need to be furnished by the petitioner to provide new electricity supply and if the same is not provided within the said time limit the application would be rejected without any further intimation. Thereafter, on 11.11.2024 the petitioner made a representation to the respondents, to which the 2nd respondent issued a reply dated 19.11.2024 queries will be clarified by the office of concerned Bhavani Taluk. However, there is no action on the side of the respondents. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court. 3/6

5. The learned counsel for the TANGEDCO would submit that the petitioner has not enclosed requisite documents to provide electricity service connection. If the application is made with all the requisite documents, the same will be considered and orders passed.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submission made by the learned counsel for the TANGEDCO, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to apply a fresh for a new service connection, within a period of 2 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner shall enclose a copy of the property tax receipts and an indemnity, along with the application considering the fact that the property in question is a porambokke land. On receipt of the same, the application shall be considered and orders passed by the 2nd respondent within a period of 3 weeks therefrom. No costs.
