ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by R. MAHADEVAN, J.) The writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's appeal dated 14.03.2022 after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner. 2.

It is the case of the petitioner that he belongs to Scheduled Tribe - Hindu Kurumans community. He applied for issuance of community certificate for his son Hariprasath on 28.10.2021, which was not considered. Hence, he made representation dated 21.12.2021 enclosing the requisite documents, seeking to issue ST Kurumans Certificate to his https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

children. However, the said application was rejected. Challenging the said rejection order, the petitioner preferred an appeal dated 14.03.2022 to the respondent and the same is pending, without any progress. Therefore, this writ petition.

3. Heard Mr.K.Nithyashree, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.M.Bindran, learned Additional Government Pleader taking notice for the respondent.

4. Considering the limited relief sought herein, this court without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 14.03.2022 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
