ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for direction directing the respondents to de-freeze the petitioner's bank account No.159884668000 maintained in the first respondent bank.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that only on the instruction given by the second respondent, the first respondent had frozen the petitioner's account and did not permit the petitioner to operate his account. The account has been frozen for the past three years without any reason. The second respondent also failed to appear before this Court to explain on what purpose the account of the petitioner has been frozen.

Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court. Even after serving the notice and also printed the name of the second respondent in the cause list, no one is appeared either by person or through pleader. 4.

The petitioner is holding an account with the first respondent bearing account No.159884668000. While being so, on the instruction from the second respondent, the first respondent had frozen the account

of the petitioner and the same was duly informed to the petitioner by the communication dated 23.08.2023. Even after 11⁄2 years, the investigation has not been completed and the account of the petitioner has been frozen without permitting the petitioner to operate it. Therefore, the petitioner submitted representation dated 24.01.2025 and there is no response from the second respondent.

Considering the above facts and circumstances, this Court is inclined to issue a directions to the first respondent to defreeze the account of the petitioner bearing account No.159884668000 and to permit the petitioner to operate his account, forthwith. 6.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
