(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) The Contempt Petition on hand has been instituted to punish the respondents for willful disobedience of the order of this Court dated 28.10.2020 in W.P. No.15149 of 2020. The present Contempt petition has been filed on 15.03.2024, after a lapse of about three and half years from the date of passing of the order. In view of Section 19 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, contempt petition filed beyond the period of limitation of one year as contemplated under the Act is not entertained.
2. The issues raised regarding limitation in filing contempt petition has been considered by this Court in the case of D.Muruganandham vs. J.Thirugnanam reported in 2018 (1) CTC 194.
