Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to include the petitioner in the selection process conducted for recruitment to the post of Junior Draughting Officer without reference to the upper age limit fixed in column No.2 of the notification issued by the third respondent vide No.12390/Nir 5(1)/2014 dated 26.10.2015.

O R D E R

This writ petition has filed to consider the writ petitioner for the post Junior Draughting Officer as per the notification of the second respondent dated 26.10.2015 in filling up the vacancies without insisting on the upper age limit.

2. The learned counsel for the respondents referring to the G.O.No.117 of Minor Port Trust Department, dated 24.10.2018 submitted that pursuant to the directions of the High Court, the said notification was cancelled and the said post is being filled through Tamilnadu Public Service Commission by direct recruitment. The Special Government Pleader also produced a copy of the said Government Order. 3.

The above submission of the learned Special Government Pleader has been placed on record. In view of the submission of the learned Special Government Pleader that the impugned notification has been cancelled by virtue of G.O.No.177, dated 24.10.208 of the Highways and Minor Ports Department, nothing survives in this writ petition.

4. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. No cost.
