As per the directions of this Court dated 02.11.2021, the Member Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Legal Services Authority has submitted a Report stating as under:

" In obedience to the order of this Hon'ble Court dated 02.11.2021, I have deputed Mr. T. B. Venkateswaran, Senior Administrative Assistant of this Authority, to contact the petitioner to ascertain whether he requires any legal assistant to prosecuting the writ petition. Accordingly he visited the place and found that, the proper address of the petitioner is, Door No. 20, Balambal Apartments, Thangal Street, Virugambakkam, Chennai - 92. The persons residing there informed the staff that, Mr. T.K. Gurunath and his family shifted 5 years ago from the above place to Perungudi, Chennai. Mr. T.K. Gurunath died on 10.05.2021 due to Covid - 19 infection and he is survived by his son and daughter. Now whereabouts of the family members not known to the persons residing at Balambal Apartment, Virugambakkam."

2. Considering the Report filed by the Member Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Legal Services Authority, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose will be served in keeping this writ petition pending on the file of this Court. Hence, this Writ Petition is dismissed for non-prosecution. No costs.
