PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for records of the 1/4

4th respondent dated 09.11.2015 in Lr.No.E1(2)/08970/2012 and quash the same and consequently direct the 1st respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 22.09.2015 and 26.09.2015 made by the petitioner seeking to promote her to the post of Deputy Registrar Administrative Officer with effect from 22.02.2015 and consequently to cancel the promotion of Thiru.B.Sri Kumar, Law Officer Statutes to the post of Deputy Registrar Administration. ORDER

Heard Mr.N.A.Nissar Ahmed, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Imayavaramban, learned counsel appearing for the respondents.

2. When the second respondent herein was promoted, through an order dated 14.09.2015, the petitioner herein had filed an appeal before the first respondent herein, which came to be disposed of on 09.11.2015 and which is the subject matter of the present Writ Petition.

3. It is now brought to the notice of this Court that through the proceedings of the Vice Chancellor in Proc.No.E.1(2)/00054/2017, dated 2/4

07.09.2018, the promotion of the second respondent was cancelled. Thus, the grievance of the petitioner has been met and hence, no effective orders can be passed in the present Writ Petition and accordingly, the Writ Petition stands closed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.

4. At this juncture, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the University is not considering the petitioner's candidature for promotion to the post of Deputy Registrar. In this connection, the petitioner is granted liberty to make an appropriate representation to the third respondent herein and on receipt of the same, the third respondent shall consider it on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 4 weeks from the date of receipt of the representation.
