ORDER

In a proposed suit for remedies in respect of alleged defamation by the first and second defendants through the channel of the third defendant, the intending plaintiffs seek leave to sue.

2. Learned counsel for the applicants / intending plaintiffs points out that the defamatory statements have been levelled against the plaintiffs, who reside in and carry on business within the jurisdiction of this Court.

3. Upon examining the draft plaint and the affidavit in support of this application, it appears that the plaintiffs reside in and carry on business within the jurisdiction of this Court. Consequently, it is stated that the video containing the allegedly defamatory statements is viewed by the public in Chennai. Therefore, a part of the cause of action has arisen within the jurisdiction of this Court in as much as the alleged defamatory statements may lower the reputation of the plaintiffs among its customers and other stakeholders in Chennai.

4. Consequently, this application is allowed by granting leave to the applicants to sue the respondents before this Court. The Registry is directed to number the suit, if otherwise in order.
