By consent the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner claims that he is the daughter of late Elumalai and E.Ranganayagi and his father was in possession and enjoyment of the land admeasuring to an extent of 2070 square feet comprised in S.No.1946/1 part bearing D.No.92/62, Mangaliamman Koil Street, St.Thomas Mount, Tambaram Taluk, Kancheepuram District. The petitioner would further claim that his father had put up a superstructure on the said land and also obtained electricity service https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

connection in his name. During his life time, on 09.12.2014, he executed a registered settlement deed in her favour before the Office of the Sub Registrar, Saidapet. The petitioner claims that after the demise of his father, she continued to be in possession and enjoyment of the same. The petitioner also states that on 12.05.2015 she submitted a representation/application to the respondents for issuance of patta in respect of the above said property. Since she has not been favoured with any kind of response, she has come forward with this writ petition.

3. Heard Mr.T.Ramachandran, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.V.Subbiah, the learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice for the respondents.

Though the prayer made in the writ petition is for larger relief, the learned counsel during the course of his argument submitted that the petitioner would be satisfied if appropriate direction is issued to the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation within a time frame. Having regard to the above submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this court directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's application/representation dated 12.05.2015 in accordance with law after putting on notice the persons concerned and pass appropriate orders on the same within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner as well as to the persons concerned. No costs. Consequently, connected MP is closed.
