This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to register the complaint and file an F.I.R., on the basis of the complaint dated 07.05.2015 in S.No.1117/2015 within a time frame.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent.

3. It is seen that this petitioner had lodged a complaint dated 07.05.2015 to the Superintendent of Police and not to the jurisdictional police station. Under Section 154 Cr.P.C., the complaint should first be lodged before the jurisdictional police and only when no action has been taken thereon, the complainant can approach the Superintendent of Police.

Under such circumstances, this Criminal Original Petition is closed with liberty to the petitioner to file a fresh complaint in person before the Station House Officer.
