ORDER

The prayer made in this writ petition is to issue a mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 08.06.2015 as per Rule 25(iv)(a) and (b) of the Tamil Nadu Stamp Rules, within a specified time frame.

2.The petitioner averred in the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition that pursuant to the notification dated 05.03.2015 issued by the third respondent, the petitioner, who is an Ex-serviceman, made application for issuance of stamp vendor licence. Subsequently, he appeared for personal interview and submitted the required documents. However, his candidature was not considered. Stating that the process of selection was not in accordance with law, he made a complaint to the 3rd respondent, which was rejected on the ground that the qualified candidate was selected and hence, there was no violation in the selection process. Aggrieved over the same, the petitioner preferred an appeal before the 2nd respondent on 08.06.2015, which is kept pending till date. Hence, this writ petition. 3.

There is no representation for the petitioner either in person or through his learned counsel. Heard the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents and also perused the materials placed before this Court. 4.Considering the limited relief sought herein, this Court without going into the merits of the case, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's appeal dated 08.06.2015, if not considered earlier and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.Accordingly, this writ petition stands disposed of.
