Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioners' application for electricity connection dated 01.12.2014 and reminder dated 05.02.2015 and to provide electricity connection to the petitioners premises at Thirumullaivoyal Village, Ambattur Taluk, Thiruvallur District bearing Old Survey No.271/A & 271/B, as per patta No.303 new survey No.271/3B to an extent of 1466 sq. ft.

By consent, the Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

The petitioners claim that they are the absolute owners of vacant site admeasuring an extent of 1466 sq.ft, at Kulakarai Street, Thirumullaivoyal Village, Ambattur Taluk, Thiruvallur District, in old Survey No.271/A & 271/B, patta No.303 (New Survey No.271/3B). They had purchased the property from one Mrs.A.G.Meena @ C.Meenakshi by means of a registered sale deed dated 18.06.2014 registered as Doc.No.8164/2014. It is a claim of the petitioners that the above said land absolutely belongs to the petitioners predecessor in titles and after purchase, they became the absolute
owners and except them, no one is having any right or interest on the property and also decided to put up a super structure and for that purpose, they applied for temporary electricity connection on 01.12.2014 to the 2nd respondent and since nothing forthcoming, they sent a reminder on 05.02.2015. However, no action was taken. Subsequently, the 2nd respondent vide letter dated 18.02.2015 informed them that one Mr.T.H.Rajmohan objected for providing temporary electricity connection and in this regard, a letter has also been written to the Assistant Commissioner of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments and their response is awaited.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that for want of temporary electricity connection, the petitioners are not able to put up a super structure and day-by-day, the cost of building materials are going high and therefore, prays for appropriate orders.
4. Heard the submissions made by Mr.T.Easwaradhas, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr.P.R.Dhilpkumar, who accepts notice for respondents.
5. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioners, directs the second respondent to consider and dispose of the application dated 01.12.2014 submitted by the petitioners for temporary electricity connection, in accordance with law after putting on notice the persons concerned and pass orders as expeditiously as possible, not later than eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision to the petitioners as well as the persons concerned.
