Respondents Prayer: Habeas Corpus Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Habeas Corpus to direct the first respondent to produce the body of the petitioner's daughter Ramya aged 21 years and set her at liberty.

O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by R.HEMALATHA, J.] The petitioner/Seerangan, residing at Kuppadasan Valavu, Bodinaikkanpatty, PO, Edappadi, Salem District has filed the Writ of Habeas Corpus Petition, directing the first respondent namely, the Inspector of Police, Edappadi Police Station, Salem District to produce the body of her daughter S.Ramya aged 21 years before this Court.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing on behalf of the first respondent.

3.In the affidavit filed along with the petition, the petitioner/ Seerangan has stated that her daughter S.Ramya, aged 21 years was studying in II Year M.Sc., in JKKN College at Kumarapalayam and that the second respondent/Ravi had abducted her daughter with the help of his friends.

4.On 02.04.2018, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the first respondent requested time for production of the detenue, S.Ramya. Accordingly, time was granted and today, i.e., on 09.04.2018, the first respondent produced the detenue, S.Ramya before this Court. The second respondent/Ravi is also present before this Court. 5.This Court interacted with the detenu in detail. The detenu S.Ramya informed that she was born on 14.05.1996 and aged about 22 years and that as she fell in love with the second respondent, she married him on 13.02.2018 at Raja Murugan Temple, Anaimedu, Tharamangalam. According to her, she is presently living with her husband happily. She further averred that her husband is a driver by profession and is earning a sum of Rs.10,000/- per month.

She also stated that she discontinued her studies and is not willing to go with her parents. Since the detenu is a major, this Court is convinced that she would be in a position to take an independent decision on her own and does not require any guidance from this Court. 6.Accordingly, the Habeas Corpus Petition is disposed of as no further course of action is necessary.
