ORDER

By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to issue joint patta in favour of the petitioner in respect of the property comprised in Old S.No.118/01, New S.No.339/03 measuring an extent of 10291 sq.ft situated at Perumal Koil Street, Sirupinaayur Village, Uthiramerur Taluk, Kancheepuram District based on petitioner's representation dated 22.12.2024.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner's father purchased the subject property and the same was registered before the Sub Registrar Office, Uthiramerur Taluk vide Document No.6418/2006 dated 06.06.2006. After the demise of petitioner's father, petitioner submitted a representation dated 22.12.2024 seeking to issue joint patta, in his name, in respect of the subject property. However, the said representation has not been considered so far. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner has come before this Court. 2/5

At the outset it is submitted by the learned Government Advocate for the respondents that the petitioner has not taken out an online application and if an online application is taken out the same would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed, in accordance with law within a time frame fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for the petitioner.

In view thereof, it is open to the petitioner to file an online application and if any such online application is filed by the petitioner, the respondents shall consider the application on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of 12 weeks from the date on which the online application is filed by the petitioner and found in the order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the matter on its own merits and in accordance with law.
