Mr.J.Kumaran, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice for the respondents and is armed with instructions to proceed with the matter finally even at the stage of admission. Hence, by consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at this stage.

Mr.Kumaran states that though the application dated 25.04.2018 has not been received by the authorities, the representation of the petitioner seeking permission to commence a Coconut milk Whisky Industry, that has been sent on 01.02.2021, has been received. He assures the Court that the Commissioner of Excise, Government of Puducherry/R1 will consider the representation of the petitioner and dispose the same within a period of six (6) weeks from today after hearing the petitioner and in accordance with law.
