ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by J.NISHA BANU, J.) The present Writ Petition is filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to consider the petitioner's representations dated 13.09.2024 and 02.12.2024 given to the respondents to issue ST Community Certificate to the petitioner and the Narikuravar Families residing at Gypsy Colony of Kottur Village and Gypsy Colony of Thiruvanmiyur Village.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that a recent letter was issued by the Chief Secretary in Ne.Mu.Ka.No.1707/2021 dated 09.11.2021 to all the District Collectors for classifying the Narikuravar Communities into Scheduled Tribes. Based on the above letter, the petitioner had given representations before the respondents to issue ST certificate to their community.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would further submit that the Revenue Officials have also conducted Special Camps on 29.10.2024 at Thiruvanmiyur and Kottur, Chennai and collected Aadhar Cards and Ration Cards from Narikuravar Families residing in those areas. He would therefore,

submit that even after collecting those documents, no further action was taken by the respondents for issuing the ST Community Certificate. Challenging the same, the present Writ Petition is filed.

4. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the petitioner to submit a fresh application before the authorities, within a period of one (1) week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If any application is filed by the petitioner in this regard, the respondents shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after issuing notice to the petitioner and the persons interested in this regard and also affording them an opportunity of personal hearing, within a period of six (6) weeks thereafter.
