O R D E R
(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Government Pleader (i/c.) for respondent no.1 and Mr.V.C.Selvasekaran, learned Standing Counsel for respondent nos.2 to 4.
2.The case of the petitioner is that Locking and Sealing and Demolition notice was issued to him under Section 57 read with Section 85 of the Tamil Nadu Town and Country Planning Act, 1971. The said notice is dated 21.12.2018 and it is in relation to car parking for residential purpose at No.89, Vepery High Road, Vepery, Chennai-7. The further case of the petitioner is that against the said notice, he has preferred an appeal on 01.03.2019. However, till today, the said appeal has not been decided.
3.Looking to the above facts, we direct the concerned authority, i.e., respondent no.1, to dispose of the appeal within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, W.M.P.Nos.9536 and 9537 of 2019 are closed.
