ORDER
This is a petition filed by the petitioner seeking a direction to respondents 4 to 6 to consider his representation dated 28.1.2026 to restore the electricity connection to his agricultural land in R.S.Nos.200/3, 200/10 and 200/11, Soriankuppam Village, Puducherry covered under electricity connection policy No. 28825/1970.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.V. Vasanthakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader accepting notice for the respondents.
3. The case of the petitioner is as follows:
The petitioner owns the subject lands and has been doing agriculture for the past several decades. During November - December 2024, Fengal cyclone devastated the crops, the electric pole and the electric motor got damaged and the electricity supply was also disconnected. The petitioner has been approaching the respondents by sending several representations on 09.5.2025, 09.7.2025 and 10.10.2025
seeking to restore the electricity connection and the electric pole. The last of such representations was given to respondents 4 to 6. On account of the default committed by the respondents, the petitioner could not cultivate the agricultural land and rather, incurred huge loss. Pursuant to the representations, as nothing was forthcoming, the petitioner is before this Court.
4. Considering the limited nature of the prayer sought for and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the 6th respondent to consider the said representation of the petitioner dated 28.1.2026 on merits and pass appropriate orders thereon in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, the connected WMP is closed.
