ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by P.B.BALAJI, J.) This contempt petition has been filed by the petitionerS to punish the respondents for willfully disobeying the order of this Court in W.P.No.34023 of 2017, dated 28.07.2023.

2. The learned Senior Panel Counsel appearing for the respondents filed a status report stating that, pursuant to the order passed by this court, the Departmental Screening Committee was convened on 27.08.2024 to assess the eligibility of the petitioners for absorption as Group-D, in accordance with the part II of the Schedule under the Department of posts (Group D posts) Recruitment Rules 2002 as per 75% - 25% by taking into account the vacancies, that have occurred year wise from 2002 to 2009 (up to 28.03.2009). It is further stated during that exercise, the petitioners 1 to 5 have been found eligible for the notional appointment as MTS and the sixth respondent viz. N.Balaji has not been found eligible, as per his seniority and to that effect, order has been issued by the third respondent, vide memo

dated 27.08.2024. According to the respondents, the order passed by this Court in W.P.No.34023/2017, dated 28.08.2023 is complied with.

3. The Status report filed on behalf of the respondents is taken on file. If the petitioners are aggrieved by the order passed by the respondents, it is open to them to challenge the same, in accordance with law.
