ORDER

With consent on either side, the main Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.

2. This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the 2nd respondent to provide Low Tension Domestic Electricity Service Connection to the petitioner's house situated at No.4, Housing Board, Ponmar Village, Chengalpattu District 600048, by considering the petitioner's application dated 27.02.2026 vide Application No. 5780226512, on obtaining Indemnity Bond from the petitioner within time frame as fixed by this Court.

According to the petitioner, the petitioner submitted an application dated 27.02.2026 vide Application No.5780226512 to the 2nd respondent herein to provide Low Tension Domestic Electricity Connection to the subject property along with documents to show and prove that the petitioner is in continuous possession of the subject property and upon enquiry about the status of the application, the 2nd respondent has orally directed the petitioner either to obtain No Objection Certificate from the Tahsildar or an order from this Court. Though the petitioner informed the 2nd respondent that she is ready and willing to execute an indemnity bond in favour of Electricity Board and requested to provide electricity service connection, the said application has not been considered and the same is pending, therefore, the petitioner has come up with the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that appropriate authority to consider the representation of the petitioner is the 2nd respondent, therefore, a direction and sufficient time may be granted to the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner.

5. In view of the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the case, this Court hereby directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation / application dated 27.02.2026 on merits and pass appropriate orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of the order, after providing opportunity to the necessary parties.
