..Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records relating to the proceedings dated 12.3.2021 in Show Cause No. TN20 / 2021 / 182 of the 1st Respondent herein and quash the same and consequently direct the 1st respondent herein to return forthwith the driving license (Driving License NO. Challenge in the writ petition is the impugned proceedings dated 12.03.2021 issued by the 1st respondent suspending the driving license of the petitioner for the period from 14.01.2021 to 13.07.2021 (5 Months and 29 days).

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that consequent to the proceedings initiated against the petitioner, he was placed under suspension and the same was revoked and he https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

was transferred from Chengalpet to Tambaram. The learned counsel for the petitioner further submitted that the period of suspension of 5 months and 29 days is getting over, therefore appropriate orders may be passed directing the 1st respondent to return the driving license of the petitioner. 4.In view of the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and considering the fact that the period of suspension of driving license for 5 months and 29 days will be completing on 13.07.2021, it is open to the petitioner to approach the 1st respondent seeking return of driving license.

5. Accordingly, the present writ petition is disposed of with the following directions;

(i) The petitioner shall make representation before the 1st respondent seeking return of driving license within period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

(ii) On receipt of such representation, the 1st respondent shall consider the same on its own merits and pass orders as expeditiously as possible, within a period of three weeks thereafter.

(iii). No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
