3.WP.No.9617 of 2026 has been filed for the following reliefs:- "Calling for records to the impugned order made in proceedings No 1/ G8A / 1035 / TNSTC / 14 dated 03.07.2015 passed by the 3rd respondent and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents to grant the annual increment with all consequential benefits including pay revision, arrears and interest."
4.WP.No.9621 of 2026 has been filed for the following reliefs:- "Calling for records to the impugned order made in proceedings No 1/ G5/ 20/ TNSTC / 11 dated 22.09.2014 passed by the 3rd respondent and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents to grant the annual increment with all consequential benefits including pay revision, arrears and interest". Brief Facts:
5.The petitioner was appointed as a Driver in the respondent Corporation on 10.02.2008. While in service, he was subjected to various disciplinary proceedings on several occasions, resulting in the imposition of the following punishments:- (i) Stoppage of six months' annual increment with cumulative effect (vide proceedings dated 22.09.2014) (ii) Postponement of annual increment for two years with cumulative effect (vide proceedings dated 03.07.2015) (iii) Postponement of annual increment for three years with cumulative effect. (vide proceedings dated 08.10.2018) (iv) Postponement of annual increment for five years with cumulative effect (vide proceedings dated 29.07.2021)
6. The petitioner's main grievance is that the aforesaid punishment orders were passed without properly considering his explanation. Aggrieved thereby, the petitioner has approached this Court challenging the said orders.
7. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the records.
8. A mere perusal of the impugned orders would clearly indicate that they have already worked themselves out. Further, the petitioner has not immediately challenged the orders. The first of the order was passed as early as in the year 2014 and the last in the year 2021. Therefore, considering the fact that the impugned orders have already worked themselves out, no useful purpose would be served in entertaining these Writ Petitions. Accordingly, these Writ Petitions are dismissed. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
