Respondent Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus,directing the respondent to give permission to the petitioner to conduct a cultural program schedule to be held on 7.6.2015 in Shri Mahasakthi Mariamman Shri Servasakthi Mariamman Temple at Makkanur Anjapaakam Post Thirupattur Taluk Vellore District by considering the petitioner representation dt 28.5.2015. For Petitioner : Mr.S.Udaya Kumar for M/s.Karan and Uday For Respondent : Mr.Rm.Muthukumar Government Advocate.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
2. The petitioner claims that he is the resident of Makkanur, Anjapaakam Post, Thirupattur Taluk, Vellore District and there exists an ancient temple viz., "Shri Mahasakthi Mariamman Shri Servasakthi Mariamman Temple", and the presiding deity is worshiped by the villagers nearby and a decision has been taken to conduct the temple festival on 07.06.2015 and in connection with the temple festival, song, dance and other cultural programs are sought to be organized and in this regard, the petitioner submitted a representation/application dated 28.05.2015 to the respondent and since he has not been favoured with any kind of response, came forward to file this writ petition.

3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that in the event of permission being granted to conduct the song and dance programme, there will not be any law and order problem and no vulgarity or obscenity will be there and hence, prays for appropriate orders.
4. This Court heard the submissions of Mr.Rm.Muthukumar, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice for the respondent.
5. Taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the application/representation, this Court, directs the respondent to consider the application/representation dated 28.05.2015, on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders, as expeditiously as possible and not later than 06.06.2015 and inform the decision taken to the petitioner forthwith.
6. The writ petition is disposed of, accordingly. No costs.
